OK another HUGE Gap in updates I dont why. Been busy I guess. So I have been having MMO cravings and BLIZZARD...seriously screwed up..and my account is "there" but doesent exsist and I still havent heard from them about wtf is going on..so I have been playing free/trial MMOs and here is a brif overvue of the ones I have been playing/played
GuildWars
Pro: Free once you buy the game. No monthly fee. Scalable sys requirements. Good story.
Cons: Its limited and not a "true" MMO. Only parts of GuildWars that are MMO like are the towns. All action in the game is instant based. It feels like Diablo with nice graphics and no mature themes.
Extra: No monthly charges. You get what you pay for. For some people its what they want others its so so. I have had GWs for 3 years..and only have 1 max level char...which is still lvl20. Would I reccamend it? Give it a shot. Its good but lacks features MMORPGs have.
RATING: 3.5/5
Last Chaos
Pro: Decent graphics. Blood.
Cons: FULL OF SPAMMERS dear god. I know MMO's are full of spammers for gold/powerleveling but holy hell this game takes the cake. The Game looks like a ripoff of L2 down to the town layouts and Char Setup. This game is just ...gah I know its free but hell I would ALMOST play RuneScape then this...and I LOATH RS
Extra: None...
Rating: -5/5
Gates of Adaron
Pro: A MMO not based in Asia/USA. Something NEW. Nice graphics that are not cartooney but not "uber realistic". Nice Minimap that HELPS with quests. Customizable UI. Has Tons good amount of content in lowbie area to keep people playing. NEWBIE FRIENDLY, by far one of its best aspects. A new player could pic this upp in a matter of minutes instead of running around like a chicken with the damn head cut off spamming world chat "WTF DO I DO?!?!?"
Cons: Still suffers from spammer crap :|
Extra: While I have just started playing it, besides Perfect World/Perfect World International its one of the best free MMO's I have played.
Rating: 4.5/5
Perfect World International
Pro: BIG. Absolutely beautiful even on low settings. Character creation that rivals paid MMOs. Think Oblivion, its awesome. Easy to pick up and not overwhelming. Fun and well ya FUN. FREE. Gives you the option to buy items from a store with money you purchase online or via cards.
Cons: The graphics can tank systems unless they have alot of ram or a good vidcard at highres and max settings.
Extra: Perfect World International byfar is the best MMORPG out there. It could easily go monthly and would still be worth it.
Rating: 5/5
So there you have it. My small rant on free/semi free MMO/Online games. More will come later when I am in the mode to type out full reviews.
Wow..its been a long ass time since I have updated my blog. Alot has gone on but I am not going to bore people with that. I am going to keep my blog/vox as kind of tech blog.
Well a lot has gone on even since my last blog heh. My whole world has pretty much come crashing to a halt.
1: My wife of 3 years and friend of 8 left me. This has completely messed with my emotions.
2: I slipped and fell down my stairs cuase the hand railing was wet, almost shattering my left ankle and bruising my back and spine.
3: My roommate is dating my sons mom and she wants to move in now o.O
Thats the anoyying now the good
1: I now have All Alien, Predator and AVP movies. All Collector/Special editions.
2: I am now doing reviews and articles for PaperStreet.
3: I got a new game that kicks ass. Sins of a Solar Empire. BUY IT NOW
4: I got a new headset. Plantronics 770 Surround Sound. Although the USB Dongle is iffy I think I just got a dud (exchanging later today)
Besides that stuff happening not much has gone on. I have just been working on my comp and so on. Ubuntu does not my laptop. I have come to this conclusion for the simple fact when I update anything it crashes and or locks up even in recovery mode. So I think I am just going to try something else. Maybe go back to SuSe, still not sure. I got "Linux for Dummies" which is one of there giant 8-1 books. DVD comes with a few Distros of Linux on it. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to tell me, it will be put on a Laptop.
Compaq Persario C74N1. Core 2 Dual T2330 running at 1.6Ghz, 2GB DDR2 5300 Ram, 120GB HD (plan on giving linux either 15-20GB to start with), Intel Extreme Graphics M965(X3100) *Gaming Chipset* and an Atheros 700 Wifi (this has been the bane of Linux for me, the drivers are a pain in some distros to set up, while in others no prob auto configed)
Well that about wraps it up I guess. Not the best of updates but its something.
It has been since November of 2006 since I last posted a message....kind of sad really. I have just kind of lost interest in blogging I guess, kind of hard to explain though now I am going to blog more cause I miss it. A lot has gone on since November of '06. I have moved 3 times, had about 7 different roommates, though now I have a cool roomie who I have known for a few years and my own place. I have 8 computers now ranging from my main rig P4 down to an old PentiumPro NEC from Japan lol.
Today was fun, my younger sister, niece and step-mom showed up today and I got to see my son as well. My roomie and I hacked his PSP and have been browsing the net with it, need to add more things to it though. Hell I need to get one my self >_> there fun to play with. I am going to try and get my computer repair bussiness back up and running with my roomie as well and try to get some extra money since I am on my GAX I can't "work" so just need to under the table jobs. I need more computers though....I dont feel like I have enough for some odd reason >_> I know I am odd. I need more monitors and more living room space lol. I will take pics soon and show what I mean.
Wow today was a blast. I live in Skagit County Wa. We are use to floods. Well the road I live on is called Hoag, the lower half ALWAYS floods. Well some people are just...stupid. ENjoy the pics of mother nature being on PMS. These are only a few pics I took. Also the red car that got stuck...ya 14 year old kid thought it would be a GREAT Idea to steal moms car, get it stuck and DO THIS IN FRONT OF A COP! It was fun :D
Well I am installing Debian on to my Linux box, which currently has Ubuntu 5.4 on it. Not in the mood to tweak with Ubuntu atm and I want to try out Debian since I have heard alot of good stuff about it. So I am going to try a Netinstall. This otta be fun lol. Also I am running on fume so I am just kind of blah.
Hopefully IRC will want to work when I get Debian installed >_> damn Xchat errors.
OK. I run a small little on site computer repair bussiness. Well my first client who happens to be my friend dad wanted "THe Uber 1337 Gaming Machine" so I ordered him a beast on New Egg. Well I ordered a mobo that was a POS by mistake. Not a good thing to do. Well ensue almost 27 hours of trying to install Windows on to a Killer Machine where the mother board cant even read anything properly...-_- needless to say Monday I need to go back and RMA the board and get an Asus board. Also the ATi Radeon X1950XTX is HEAVY for a videocard. My god. Such a beauty though. I so want one when I get the money to upgrade to PCI-E although I am happy with my 8X X1300Pro 256
BTW I forgot to mention my friends Dad knows jack ditaly sqaut about computers....and was wondery why it dident load everything with WIndows and the games he wanted...when I hit the power button.

on Holy crap...an update
